Classification of LCD modules
Speaking of LCD module, I must be familiar with everyone, so do you know the classification of LCD modules? The following is a detailed introduction:
Segment LCD module
The pen segment type is a one-digit display composed of long strips of display pixels. This type is mainly used for digital display, and can also be used to display Western letters or certain characters. This type of segment display usually has segments, seven segments, eight segments, nine segments, fourteen segments, and sixteen segments. The shape always changes around the number "8". Among them, seven segment displays are commonly used. Used in electronic watches, digital instruments, and notebook computers.
Character LCD module
Character type liquid crystal display module is a dot matrix type liquid crystal display module specially used to display letters, numbers, symbols, etc. In terms of electrode graphic design, it is composed of several 5×8 or 5×11 dot matrixes, each dot matrix displays a character. This type of module is widely used in pagers, big phones, electronic notebooks and other electronic equipment.
Dot matrix graphic LCD module
The dot matrix pattern type is to arrange multiple rows and multiple columns on a flat plate to form a matrix of lattice points. The size of the dots can be designed according to the definition of the display. This type of LCD display can be widely used in graphics display devices such as game consoles, notebook computers, and color TVs.
There are some other classification methods for LCD modules. According to the lighting method, it can be divided into natural lighting and backlight lighting LCD. According to LCD display drive mode, it can be divided into static drive, dynamic drive, and dual-frequency drive LCD. According to the installation method of the controller, it can be divided into two types: with controller and without controller.
The LCD module containing the controller is also called the built-in LCD. The built-in LCD uses thick film circuits for the controller and driver on the printed bottom board of the liquid crystal display module, and the LCD display can be driven by external digital or analog signals through the controller interface. Because the built-in LCD is easy to use and concise, it is widely used in character LCD and dot matrix LCD.
